Center for Environmental and Technological History of EUSP, together with the Arctic Center of the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) co-led the international conference

Professor Mieke Bal, Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, presented video and lecture.

 Aleksei Kudrin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Finance Minister of the Russian Federation, member of the Board of Trustees of the EUSP and the EUSP Fund met with students, graduates, and instructors of the University.

EUSP experts, representatives of the St. Petersburg business community as well as journalists took part in it. A special guest of the round table was Sergei Petrov (Russian State Duma deputy, member of the Tax and Budget Committee, founder of the Rolf Group)

Within the framework of the Open seminar of the Department of History  Professor Claudio Sergio Nun Ingerflom of the French National Center for Scientific Research/National Scientific and Technical Research Council (Argentina) presented his paper

The lecture by professor Deepak Lal, University of California, Los Angeles

The second time the city hosted the event organized by the Delegation of European Commission to Russia. A prominent scholar from Greece Loukas Tsoukalis, a Polish public figure and well-known journalist Adam Michnik, a German diplomat and politician Gunter Pleuger as well as a professor of Higher School of Economics (Moscow) Sergei Medvedev were participating in the debate. 

As a part of a series of Open Research Seminars of the Art History Department there was the lecture by professor Sarah Wilson, Courtauld Institute, University of London

Professor Oren Yiftachel, Ben-Gurion University, delivered a lecture at the Conference hall of the EUSP

Leading researchers in history of classical republics and republican political theory were participate in the conference, presenting papers on theory of classical republicanism. Also, a number of papers was devoted to the experience of medieval and renaissance republics - Venice  and Florence, as well as Novgorod and Pskov.

Professor Jack Goldstone, George Mason University, delivered a lecture at the Conference hall of the EUSP

The evening began with the annual address by the Rector of the University, Oleg Kharkhordin. Among the honored guests in attendance at the ceremony were representatives of the city administration and diplomatic corps, and also members of the Board of Trustees, friends, and partners of European University.

Professor Laurent Thévenot (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris) presented his new book, took part in the discussion on The Pragmatic Sociology of Engagements and delivered a talk whithin the framework of the Round Table "Comparative Cultural Sociology of Laurent Thévenot and the EUSP Study of the Technological Entrepreneurship in 4 Regions of Russia and Taiwan, Korea and Finland".
